The Kentucky Department of Education's Pupil Transportation Branch is dedicated to the safe transport of Kentucky's school children.

All Transportation Personnel need to read the following memo from the Transportation Cabinet - April 2, 2012
New Timeline for CDL Application Processing (up to 10 days)

ATTENTION! ATTENTION! -ATTENTION!
CDL License & Medical Card Information

It has come to our attention that the medical / license renewal process is creating confusion. PLEASE adhere to the following steps to make this process function more effeciently.

  1. Start the license renewal / medical certification process at least 30 day before going to obtain or renew license/permit.
  2. Visit physician for physical and medicaton certification card.
  3. Send a legible copy of the front and back of the completed medical card to the Division of Driver Licensing using one of the following three methods. (include address/phone number/email address where they will return approval)
    1. Mail to 200 Mero St., Frankfort, KY 40622
    2. Fax to 502-564-3250
    3. Scan and email to KYTC.CDL@KY.gov.
  4. All CDL holders/applicants will receive written notification after the medical card being received by the Kentuck Transportation Cabinet, Divison Driver Licensing has been processed.
  5. Upon receipt of written notifcation from the Division of Driver Licensing the Kentucky School Bus Driver may then take the received notification to their local license issuing office to obtain their license/permit or renew their existing license/permit.

Twentieth Annual Pupil Transportation Conference

The Student Transportation Association of Kentucky (formerly the Kentucky Driver Trainer’s Association), in partnership with the Kentucky Department of Education, will host the Twentieth Annual Pupil Transportation Conference at the Holiday Inn Hurstbourne in Louisville. The conference is scheduled for Sunday, June 24 through Wednesday, June 27, 2012.
