Kentucky Continuous Monitoring Process (KCMP), Based on 2010-11 School Year Data

Last Updated on Tuesday, May 08, 2012 at 10:01 AM

September 1, 2011 marks the beginning of the KCMP cycle for this school year.  As a result of feedback from a majority of districts, the KCMP will be divided into 3 submission periods instead of 4 as previously done.  The time frame for each submission period is outlined in the tables immediately following this message.

The 2011-2012 KCMP Instruction Manual Spring Reporting Period is available for download by clicking the link on this page. The KCMP Self-Assessment is being provided to each Director of Special Education via email.

The KCMP Self-Assessment Document has been created in Office 2007 format.  If you cannot open or use the file in that format, please contact Pam Coe and an earlier version will be provided to you.

Here are a couple of things to keep in mind as your District Review Team (DRT) begins their KCMP work this year:

·        The KCMP is now a district self-assessment process and not a compliance monitoring tool for KDE.  No citations for noncompliance will be issued solely based on district-provided information in the KCMP.  Please feel comfortable in providing an honest assessment of your district’s performance for each indicator.

·        Indicator 3 (Performance of students with disabilities on the state assessment) is being addressed during the Fall Reporting Period.  This has been requested by districts and provides an opportunity for general education and special education personnel to be together at the table when test data are released to allow for common data analysis, determining needs and developing Comprehensive District Improvement Plans (CDIP) and KCMP improvement activities that complement one another.  All districts are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.

See the Instruction Manual for additional details about these and other important topics.

If you have questions about KCMP after reviewing the manual, please contact your local Special Education Cooperative.
